One of the few players on this team that excited you when they had the puck. Another player who I’d be more than happy to see in Panthers colours next season.
A very good pick up mid-season and a player I would very much like to see back next season. Linked up excellently with Mark Derlago, scored important goals and made those around him better. I’d like to see what he could do over a full campaign.
A really brilliant mid-season pick up and a point scoring player that greatly helped us in the closing months. 37 points in total for Panthers in 28 games, over the course of a full season, presuming he’d stay fit and continue in his form, he’d have been looking at potentially 90+ points. This just shows his quality, when you consider Perlini was our top scorer with 70 points over the course of all competitions.
Absolutely awful at being allowed to take face-offs, must have been chucked out of more face-offs than he was allowed to partake in, but that’s an oversight you can forgive when you have a player offensively gifted like that.
Scores goals and creates havoc in front of the net, always looking dangerous. Unfortunately was signed too late on to make a difference. If we can only re-sign one of last season’s imports, I hope it’s him. Has the best Panthers “goal” gif.
A quality, albeit way too late, addition to the Panthers roster. In his short time at the club this season, he displayed all the key traits anyone would want from an offensively-minded forward. His directness, ability to find room on the ice in which to work in and willingness to shoot from any angle was a real shot in the arm for Panthers ailing efforts around opponents’ goals. The way he played seemed to also energise other forwards too and quickly became a focal point of the team’s offensive capabilities. One of very few imports I’d be keen to see return to Nottingham, hopefully showing us much more of his talents over the course of an entire season this time.
To say that there wasn’t much out there Pither was one hell of a find and one we badly needed at the time. Releasing Shalla didn’t make much of a difference to our goal tally because he hadn’t really been scoring and the rest of the team only seemed to maintain what they had already been producing. What really made a difference to our goal scoring was Pither, not only was he running at over a point-per-game himself but he managed to spring Derlago to life too, the line combination of those two and Vaskivuo seemed to get elevated to being the top line and Pither was the vital cog in that for me. Luke Pither is a player who can be prolific himself and also make his linemates better, I would love to see him have a full season as a Panthers player.
